Back in his early Manchester United days, Cristiano Ronaldo was all about flair — stepovers, flicks, and tricks that dazzled even the most experienced teammates. But once, he tried showing off in front of the wrong guy.

Paul Scholes watched quietly as Ronaldo went through his flashy routine. Then, without a word, Scholes pointed at a tree nearly 50 metres away.
