Roots pledged to donate 1% of their payroll and 1% of projected ticket revenue to the Common Goal movement to promote social equality. The club also established its own fund to promote racial and gender justice. Furthermore, sustainable business consulting was employed to determine their main emission sources, establish science-based emission reduction goals, and locate certified offsets. Recently, Roots teamed up with East Bay Community Energy to provide affordable clean energy to the community and educate fans about renewable sources.
