Spending millions on player transfers is common in football. But have you heard about football manager transfers? Yes, that's right! Let us explain.

So, if a manager is on a contract at one club and another club wants to bring them, the new club has to pay a transfer fee, which is essentially an amount given to the previous club to terminate the manager's existing contract. Once the existing contract is terminated and personal terms are agreed upon, the manager is free to sign for the new club. Most importantly, managers don't have a fixed transfer window. So manager transfers can happen throughout the year.

Most recently, Bayern Munich paid €12 million to sign Vincent Kompany from Burnley. However, he is still the fourth-most expensive manager transfer of all time. Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter currently leads the chart. The Blues paid a staggering €25.25 million to Brighton & Hove Albion to reserve his services in 2022.
