Italian Dictator Mussolini’s great-grandson signs for Lazio

Romano Floriani Mussolini — great-grandson of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini — is back at Lazio after impressing on loan at Juve Stabia.

Italian dictator Mussolini’s great-grandson will be playing for Lazio next season!

22-year-old Romano Floriani Mussolini, heir of fascist leader Benito Mussolini, has been recalled by Lazio after a solid loan spell at Juve Stabia — 37 appearances, one goal, and a lot of attention.

Although Juve Stabia wanted to keep him, Lazio exercised their counter-option to bring him back.

Interestingly, Romano started at AS Roma’s academy but has been part of Lazio since 2016. And now, he’s expected to feature for their senior squad for the first time.

His rise hasn’t come without controversy. Reports claim some fans celebrated his goal with fascist salutes, prompting an FIGC investigation.

Romano insists he’s not involved in politics and wants to be judged for his football. But like his great-grandfather, his love for the right wing is obvious — he plays right-back.
