Graham Potter - The Next England Manager?
In the 2017-18 Europa League knockout stage, a modest Swedish side, Östersund, defeated Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium under an unknown English manager, Graham Potter. In seven years, Potter took the club from the Swedish fourth division to the Europa League.
As the world took note of his achievements, Potter was signed by Swansea City. Following an impressive first season in the Championship, the Premier League club, Brighton and Hove Albion, appointed him as their head coach in 2019. Through his tactically flexible, possession-based attacking football, Potter has transformed the Seagulls from relegation contenders into one of the most attractive teams to watch in just three seasons. He is famous for his unconventional training methods to improve players, like asking them to perform in theatres to push them out of their comfort zones. With a growing reputation as the best English manager right now, Potter is also seen as the England manager in the making.
