Football Teams that have gone Unbeaten All Season

Is there a European football team that has gone an entire season without losing a single game?

Now, there are several teams who have gone undefeated in a domestic league season - Real Madrid, Arsenal, Juventus, Porto, and many others.

But if a team has avoided the defeat in every competition over the course of a season, they are indeed breathing rare air. This season, Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal. If they had won the Europa League Final, they would have joined this elite list, which only has one name on it at the moment: Preston North End.

We've got to go all the way back to the 1888–89 season in England, where Preston had an undefeated streak of 22 games in Division One. They also claimed the FA Cup that season, winning an impressive double!

Interestingly, Porto came mighty close to achieving this feat in the 2010–11 season, where they won the Portuguese League and also the Europa League. But they lost two games in their journey to European success.
